Partner James Tinning joined the practice in 2017 before becoming a co-owner in 2021. James has a special interest in restorative and implant dentistry, particularly the restoration of teeth using fixed tooth replacements such as implants, crowns and bridges. He is a member of the both the British Society of Restorative Dentistry and the Association of Dental Implantology. Alongside the restorative and implant dentistry James also enjoys providing Invisalign, cosmetic work and treatment under sedation.

James aims to offer his patients state of the art techniques and procedures and the most aesthetically pleasing results whilst providing the assurance of painless treatment delivered in relaxed, warm and welcoming settings. He has completed the postgraduate examinations for Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and has completed a master’s degree programme in Restorative Dentistry, with his research subject being dental bridgework design.

James enjoys dental education and has provided lectures to other dentists on the subject of restorative dentistry including lectures on implants, crowns and bridgework. He has also co-authored a paper in the British Dental Journal with Dr Andrew Shelley, on the subject of dental implants.

James sees new patient referrals for restorative and implant dentistry at the practice as well as taking on new private and Denplan patients. He also visits other practices providing implant surgery elsewhere in the North West. Originally from Newcastle (although the Geordie accent has gone!), James lives with his family in south Manchester, enjoys exercising, motorsport and is a keen supporter of Newcastle United.
